PRIVACY

joetaylor.org is Joe Taylor's personal website. It has no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no contact forms, so it does not collect personal information about you.

What is stored on your device

Your answer to the cookie banner is saved in your browser's local storage so the banner does not keep reappearing. This is strictly necessary and is kept whichever option you choose.

If you choose "Allow", the site also saves which colours, typeface and opening animation you saw last, so your next visit looks different. That is all. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

If you choose "Essential only", the page still works the same way; it just might repeat a look you have already seen.

Changing your mind

Use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. Choosing "Essential only" deletes anything already stored. Clearing your browser's site data does the same.

Server logs

The hosting provider receives your IP address and basic request details in order to deliver the page and protect against abuse. These logs are processed under the host's own privacy policy and are not used by this site to identify or track you.

Fonts

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. Google's own privacy policy covers how it handles that request.

Your rights

As no personal data is held on a server, there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete. You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
